The second installment of Discover Kualoa will focus on the legendary Makahiki season—a traditional celebration in ancient Hawaiian history that coincided with the new year. The food is 'ono and comes out fresh, fast and hot. The price is really hard to beat for what you are getting at about $7. You can get the Sumo Size for an additional $2.50. The plate comes with a small salad and a bowl of hot miso soup. The photo above is a side of the Tataki Sashimi that sells for $6. There is no parking and the service and atmosphere are unremarkable. There is always a small crowd waiting to get in. Ethel's Grill is open for business Monday thru Saturday from 5:30am to 2pm. Ethel's Grill is a cash only business and very informal. This is one of the best hole in the wall lunch shops on O'ahu and has been serving great home style food for decades. You really cant go wrong at Ethel's Grill.Mochiko Chicken

The fifth annual Volcom Pipe Pro, an ASP 5-Star World Qualifying Series (WQS) event, is setting up for another exciting showdown at the Banzai Pipeline. The contest waiting period will be from January 26th to February 7th, and with less than a week to go, the 112 warriors are getting ready to battle at one of the most dangerous waves on the planet. They will be fighting for $130,000 USD in prize money and valuable ratings points to kick off the 2014 season.
This has been one of the most exciting winters that the north shore has seen in a while, and looking at Surfline.com – the official forecaster of the 2014 Volcom Pipe Pro, we can see that there is still plenty of surf on the way.
